Modern Modesty

Modern Modesty began with my daughter.

When she started high school a few years ago we excitedly searched for her first dance dress. We looked for something she loved that was also modest. We quickly realized how difficult that could be.

As a fashion design graduate who had worked in the prom and bridal industry, I decided to do something about it.

I started collecting beautiful modest formal dresses to rent for proms and special occasions. I've been doing this locally for the past three years which has been even more fun and rewarding than I imagined! Recently my daughter prepared to serve a mission in Paraguay and we faced a similar challenge—finding modest, comfortable dresses she could wear every day that were affordable.

That experience inspired Modern Modesty to grow beyond renting and selling formalwear just locally. Today we offer thoughtfully selected dresses for church, everyday life, special occasions, and sister missionaries—so women can spend less time searching and more time feeling beautiful and confident.
